Inheritance is the process of obtaining land rights (property) from someone who is no longer alive. This applies to land allocated by both Landboard and Chiefs.

- Letter from Bogosi confirming inheritance
- Resolution from beneficiaries indicating heir / will
- Letter from the heir accepting the inheritance
- Completion of APPLICATION FOR TRANSFER OF LAND RIGHTS form
- Certified copy of Omang/ID (heir, beneficiaries or witnesses)
- Copy of death certificate of previous owner
- Copy of marriage certificate (if not married Affidavit confirming marital status for business plots)
- Copy of Instrument signed under Married Persons Property Act (Marriage In/Out of community of property)
- Original Copy of the certificate of the late owner
- In case of plots that predate the land board, a letter from Bogosi confirming allocation
- Letter from Bogosi confirming inheritance
- Resolution from beneficiaries indicating heir / will
- Letter from the heir accepting the inheritance
